John C. Latham Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John C. Latham, age 99, of Pine Tree, died Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock. He had been in poor health for the past year and a half. Mr. Latham was born December 13, 1922, in Wheatley, Arkansas, and was the son of James Andrew Latham and Pearl Perkins Latham. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life, was an inspector for Yale Industries for thirty years, served as Pastor for twenty-five years for several area Baptist Church's, was a Navy Veteran of World War II, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a member of the Pine Tree Baptist Church. Mr. Latham married Florence Eva Ellis in 1943, and she preceded him in death in 2019. He is survived by two sons; John Clinton Latham Jr. of Wynne, and Vernon Paul Latham of Pine Tree, three grandchildren; Brigett Johnson, Sarah Reese, and John Paul Latham, and seven great-grandchildren. He had a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Latham, three brothers, and five sisters, who all preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Latham will be held at the Pine Tree Baptist Church, 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, with burial in Barnishaw Cemetery in Pine Tree. Visitation will be Tuesday, beginning 9:00 A.M., until the time of the service, at the church. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
