Vernard E. Billingsley

Vernard E. Billingsley, age 84, of Forrest City, died Wednesday, August 24th 2022, at Forrest City Medical Center, in Forrest City, surrounded by the people that loved him the most. Mr. Billingsley was born September 20th 1937, in Palestine, Arkansas to Taylor and Geraldine Billingsley. He lived in St. Francis County his whole life. He was a devoted member of Lindauer Road Church of Christ and was a very compassionate God giving man who was loved dearly. Vernard retired from AP&L and quickly got his real estate license and ran East Arkansas Property Management, along with Trudi B Ramsey Realty with his daughter. Mr. Billingsley was a devoted husband, father, and his most cherished title “POP.” His favorite pastime was anything to do with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Mr. Billingsley married Billie Jean Stockton in 1956, and she preceded him in death in 2014. He married Francis Kirk in 2015, and she survives him along with one son, Gary Billingsley, and wife, Staci, of Colt, one step-son, Steven Kirk, and wife, Debra, of Azle, Texas, one daughter, Dena Clark, and husband, Myron, of Forrest City, two step-daughters; Lisa Kirk of Maine and Shannon Davis, and husband, Wane, of Wynne, two brothers; Bob Billingsley of Rogers, Arkansas, and Raymond Billingsley of Corinth, Mississippi, two sisters; Carol Ramsey of Springdale, Arkansas, and Billie Price of SaraSota, Florida, one son-in-law, Charles Ramsey of Forrest City, six grandchildren Sawyer (Jennifer) Ramsey, Logan (Cory) Brasfield, Katie (Tanner) Wright, Garritt (Alex) Clark, Taylor (Clint) Sparks, and Mason Busby, nine step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren: Wilson Reeves, Olivia Reeves, Camden Brasfield, Clarke Brasfield, Bradley Clark, and Scottie Lucille Wright. He had one daughter, Trudi B. Ramsey and one son, John Mark Billingsley, who preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Billingsley will be held at the Lindauer Church of Christ, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, with burial in Bell Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, 10:00 A.M., until the time of the service, at the church. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
