Olivia Marie Fiorito

Olivia Marie Fiorito (Long), age 85, peacefully passed away, Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Born November 6, 1937, in Palestine, Arkansas, she was the eldest daughter of Marie (Webb) and Lester Long. She spent her childhood in Louisiana and Arkansas working on her father's small farms and many hard days in the fields. After venturing to California in her early 20's, she married, started a family and they eventually moved to New York. All to return again to her Southern roots and daddy's farm, where the youngest of six children were born. Many knew Olivia from her days as a Palestine school bus driver. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, crossword puzzles and just being outdoors. After her children matured, she found herself in a new phase of life. She was hard working and always kept herself busy. During these years, she met her partner Bill Causey of Forrest City. She loved to travel to visit her children from California to Europe where she experienced the castles of Germany and bicycle rides in the Netherlands. Her church volunteering was a joy and she loved spending time just talking and laughing with her friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was very active in Happy Dayers. Olivia is survived by her partner Bill Causey of Forrest City; five of her six children, son Angelo Fiorito of Arkansas, son Anthony Fiorito of Arizona, son Allan Fiorito of California, son Artie Fiorito of Mississippi, and daughter, Anna Fiorito Brown of the Netherlands; her brother Allan Long, and wife, Betty, of Palestine, Arkansas, her grandchildren; Stephanie Smith of Arkansas, Angela Hill of Arkansas, Bryan Brown of Kentucky, Amanda Wright of Georgia and Jared Fiorito of Mississippi. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces, and great-grandchildren. Her son Armond Fiorito preceded her in death in 1998 as well as her brother Wesley Long and her parents. Services for Olivia will be held Graveside, 11:30 A.M., Saturday, at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City. Visitation will be Saturday, 10:00 A.M., until the time of the service, at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
