Milton Jackson

Milton Jackson, 51, of Henrico, Virginia, died suddenly, Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Milton was born and raised in the Palestine, Arkansas, area, where he lived for over forty years. He obtained his Associates of Education from Southern Baptist University and later graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1984 with a B.S. In Education. Milton began his career in 1984 at Spirit Homes in Conway, Arkansas, as a truss builder and was later promoted to purchasing and management. He was an ardent Razorback fan, took great pleasure in smoking meats, entertaining out of town guests and thoroughly enjoyed the beach, camping and fishing. Milton was passionate about his family and recently moved back east from Arizona to be closer to his children, grandchildren, siblings and parents. He leaves behind the love of his life, Michelle, his devoted son, Ross, and wife, Amanda, their two sweet grandchildren, Ainslee and J.J., with one more on the way, as well as his beloved step-son, Shawn Plaga from Cleveland, Ohio. Milton is survived by his loving parents, Vernon and Mary, brother, Roy, and sister-in-law, Debbie, brother, Robert, sister, Ann "Sister" and brother-in-law, Roger Mansel, sister, Glenda, and brother-in-law, Tony Anderson, sister, Peggy, and brother-in-law, Ricky McClurg, sister-in-law, Bea, wife, to his late brother Butch, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, all from Arkansas. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Bill Harris, and wife, Barbara, and his mother-in-law, Holly Harris from Tennessee. Milton was loved by many friends in many states. Milton will be remembered for his zest for life, his unfailing spirit and devotion to this family. Though he will be greatly missed by all who knew him, he will live in our hearts forever. Calling hours will be at Stevens Funeral Home, 220 North Washington St., Forrest City, Arkansas, Monday, July 30, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. And from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow at Stevens Funeral Home, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the 'Milton Jackson Memorial Fund', 9401 West Broad St., Henrico, Virginia 23294.
