Donnie Brewer

February 13, 2014 Mr. Donnie Brewer, age 64, passed from his family's arms into Gods open arms on February 11, 2014, in Conway, Arkansas, where he had recently retired to from his hometown of Palestine, Arkansas. He was born October 16, 1949, in Forrest City, and was the son of Edward Brewer and Maggie Stokes Brewer. He made his home in Palestine most of his life and was an active member of his community. He was a self-employed business owner, served the City of Palestine as a council member, volunteer firefighter, and auxiliary police officer. While living in Palestine, he attended the Twin Assembly of God Church and was very active in their fellowship hall building project. He contributed countless hours of labor and funds to help ensure it was a successful endeavor. He was well known as a kind man with a huge, giving, heart. He was passionate about giving to the less fortunate, as well as his favorite charities. Donnie married Linda Colvin, January 8, 1981, and they were happily married for thirty-three wonderful years. She survives him along with one son, Charlie Hickman, and wife, Laura, of Palestine, two daughters, Glenda Gore, and husband, Michael, of Conway, and Amy Watlington, and husband, Eugene, of Vilonia, grandchildren; Jacob Hickman, Kyleigh Hickman, Logan Hickman, Hannah Gore, Casey Gore, Josie Belle Gore, Kaitlin Whittle, Maggie Mae Whittle, Baylea Hickman, Jesse Watlington, Morgan Watlington, Hannah Watlington, Brianna Watlington, Sarah Brewer, Madison Brewer, and Warren Worden, two sisters-in-law, Patsy Colvin of Beebe and Vonnie Brewer of Forrest City, one sister, Maxine Burton, and husband, Allen, of West Memhphis, two brothers; Charles Brewer, and wife, Margie, of Palestine, and Jerry Brewer of Forrest City, his faithful little dog, Ollie, as well as a large host of family and friends who were dear to him. He has one daughter, Lori Worden, one son, Chris Brewer, and two grandchildren, Axel and Leshay, who also survive him. He had one brother and one sister-in-law, J. A. and Eugenia Brewer, who preceded him in death. Services for Mr. Brewer will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 11:00 A.M., Saturday. Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. October 16, 1949 - February 11, 2014
