Mr. Vernon Wallace Pipkin, age 80, of Widener, died Tuesday at his home in Widener. He had been in poor health for the past several years. Mr. Pipkin was born March 18, 1937, at Turkey Hill, and was the son of Alex Pipkin and Bessie Ethridge Pipkin. He lived in St. Francis County most all of his life and was a contractor. Mr. Pipkin married Lillie Mae Feltman in 1956, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by two sons; Mike Pipkin, and wife, Lisa, of Edgemont, Arkansas, and David Pipkin, and wife, Heather, of Widener, one daughter, Cathy Perdew, and husband, Ronnie, of Forrest City, five brothers; Thomas Neal Pipkin, and wife, Peggy, of West Memphis, Larry Pipkin, and wife, Cheryl, of Ashflat, Walter Pipkin of Lehi, Paul Pipkin, and wife, Jeannie, of Bryant, and Delbert Pipkin, and wife, Lisa, of Jackson, Tennessee, two sisters; Shirley Gentry of Jackson, Tennessee, and Betty Lou Bullock of Anchorage, Alaska, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He had one daughter, Jeannie Mainer, who preceded him in death in 2016. Visitation for Mr. Pipkin will be held at Stevens Funeral Home, 2:00 P.M. till 4:00 P.M. Saturday.
