    Mrs. Margarite "Skeet" Jolley

    December 21, 1928 - December 17, 2021

Margarite “Skeet” Jolley, age 92, of Hooks, TX passed away in a local hospice facility on Dec. 17, 2021. Skeet was born on December 21, 1928 in Forrest City, AR, to Luther Johnson and Lela Mae Devazier Johnson. She was a resident of North Richland Hills, TX for many years before moving to Hooks in 1996. Skeet was well known in her community, serving over the years in many different capacities. Before marrying, she was a teller at First National Bank of Eastern Arkansas. She later retired from Birdville ISD, where she worked in cafeteria accounting. She was an active member of Hooks First United Methodist Church and was the founder of The Shepherd’s Shop, an extension of the FUMC Women’s Ministry. She also enjoyed working voter check-in at the polls during any city election. She loved her family, and cherished her neighbors. She had a knack for making friends anywhere she went and never met a stranger. She was an avid fan of the Hogs and the Cowboys. She dearly enjoyed working in her yard and was known across state lines for her pecan pralines. Sheet possessed a servant’s heart and always provided a helping hand or hug to anyone in need. She was a pillar in the community that she loved so much. Skeet leaves behind a wonderful legacy for her family and friends, and will always be remembered for her kind, giving nature, her contagious smile and laugh, her courageous spirit, and her unbreakable faith in God. Skeet is preceded in death by her parents, one sister Willa Mae Clark, her beloved husband, William A. “Bill” Jolley, her son Aubrey Jolley, a daughter Gloria Jolley, as well as one infant daughter. She is survived by her loving family, Luther Alan Jolley and his wife, Tanda Jolley of Hooks, TX: three grandchildren, Chad Jolley and his wife Julie of Boise, Idaho, Kirby Jolley McCasland and her husband Ryan of Atlanta, and Lara Jolley Rains and her husband Drew of Little Rock; two great-grandchildren, Cade Jolley of Dallas, TX and Ella Kate McCasland; one sister, Lois “Sally” Vaughn of Forrest City, AR; and a truly countless host of beloved family and Friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City, Arkansas. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
