Jo Ann Lair

Jo Ann Lair, age 82, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She had been in poor health for the past year. Mrs. Lair was born March 30, 1940, in Palestine, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Jessie Monroe Powell and Ruth Elizabeth Jordan Powell. She lived in Lubbock, Texas, before moving back to Forrest City, was retired from working in retail department stores, and was a member of the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine. Mrs. Lair married Danny Ray Lair in 1960, and he preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by one son, Christopher R. Lair, of Lubbock, Texas, two brothers; Richard Powell and Eugene Powell, both of Forrest City, and two sisters; Mary Meek of Palestine and Kathy Bennett of Searcy. She had two brothers; Sonny Powell and Jim Powell, and three sisters; Lucille Davis, Nellie Evans, and Ruby Davis, who all preceded her in death. Services for Mrs. Lair will be held at the Twin Assembly of God Church in Palestine, 2:00 P.M., Friday. Visitation will be Thursday evening, 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at the church, with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in the City of Lubbock Cemetery in Lubbock, Texas.
