Dana Glae Dawson Whittington Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dana Glae Dawson Whittington, age 80, of Forrest City, died Tuesday, November 12, 2019. She had been in poor health for the past year and a half. Mrs. Whittington was born July 10, 1939, in Altus, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Milton Dawson and Hazel Hall Dawson. She was an identical twin to Jane Marie Dawson. Dana graduated from Ozark High School, attended Arkansas State Teachers College, and later graduated with a Degree in Business and a MBA from the University of Arkansas. She went on to teach and work in departmental management at EACC in 1976. She was a member of the Forrest City Country Club and was active in tennis and golf for most of her life. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Whittington is survived by her twin sister, Jane, her son, John, and wife, Ellen, and grandchildren; Jane and Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell Wayne Whittington, and her younger brother, Buddy Milton Dawson. Services for Mrs. Whittington will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 3:00 P.M., Saturday. Visitation will be Saturday, 2:00 till 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the Lowes Creek Cemetery near Ozark, Arkansas, at 1:00 P.M. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
